Submission Guidelines
As of January 2026, Whitecap is actively acquiring new titles and focused on publishing smart, stylish, and practical nonfiction with broad appeal and a distinctive point of view.
Areas of interest include:
- Beautifully produced cookbooks by chefs, food writers, and content creators
- Lifestyle nonfiction with strong identity and cultural resonance, including historical, regional, diaspora, and theme-driven projects
- Books exploring the way we live today, from both modern and traditional perspectives, including:
- Alternative and restricted diets (plant-based, low-waste, allergy-aware, climate-conscious)
- Traditional and ancestral foodways (seasonal eating, preservation, butchery, bread-making, domestic craft)
- Wellness and health, from preventative care to food as medicine
- Interiors, home life, and everyday aesthetics
- Gardening, seasonal living, and outdoor culture
- Holistic practices such as mindfulness, yoga, movement, and athletic living
- Family-centred approaches to domestic life
- Practical guides to living well on a budget without sacrificing beauty or quality
- Alternative and restricted diets (plant-based, low-waste, allergy-aware, climate-conscious)
- Projects with potential for series, brand extensions, or long-term author platforms
- Literary food and lifestyle writing with depth, voice, and storytelling at its core
